The story

For years this site did exactly one thing. You handed it a PNG, a JPG, or a GIF, it handed back a favicon.ico, and that was the whole deal. Simple, and people kept coming back for it. The trouble was that making icons had quietly grown into a bigger job. A modern site wants a favicon.ico, a handful of PNGs, an Apple touch icon, a couple of sizes for Android, and a manifest to tie them together. A Mac app wants an .icns. None of that fit through a single button.

So we rebuilt it. The look is fresher, the blue is still the blue, and the toolbox now covers the whole span of icon work: images into a real multi-size .ico, .ico back into PNGs, full favicon sets, app icons for iOS and Android, macOS .icns, plus quick helpers for text and emoji favicons and plain resizing.

One thing did not change, and it is the part we care about most. Every tool runs in your browser. The picture you drop is read and redrawn on your own machine, and there is no server waiting to receive it. That is not a marketing line, it is just how the code works. You can open the network panel and watch nothing leave.

Where it goes next

The plan is to keep each tool narrow and fast rather than pile everything into one giant uploader. If you run into a format we do not read yet, or an icon target we have missed, tell us on the contact page. That is how the list grew this far.
